R.F. Kuang's Katabasis was a smash hit. This #1 New York Times bestseller came out of the gate swinging, and I wanted to match that energy with a robust live action book trailer campaign.
I worked directly with R.F. Kuang and her editorial team to ensure book accuracy for the script, casting, and location, but ultimately our main focus was selling the book's dark academia genre and Kuang's signature, heavily-researched style. Add in rivals-to-lovers sexual tension and the target demographic was hooked immediately.
This trailer received phenomenal engagement across social platforms and in paid ad placements and was toured around the country by the author on her book tour.
